Afternoon Entertainment

We have a sand & water table.  Up to this point, it has only been used a couple of times, just with water.  We made a stop at Home Depot today and picked up some sand... 200 pounds to be exact.  After naps were over, I filled the table with the sand and Leonard and Penny played outside for a while.  As far as I could tell, there was only one incident of throwing sand.  Once the threat of no more sand table was unleashed, the throwing stopped.  They stayed out there for a good 30 minutes, staying entertained with just a few plastic storage containers.  We immediately decided that we must order some sand toys.  They'll be here Wednesday.  The play therapist at the agency said that sand is soothing for the kids.  I'm not sure why it is, but we decided to go with it anyway.  Even though you can't see it in the pictures, Leonard had sand behind his ear within the first three minutes of playing and Penny's chin was covered in sand before they came in the house.
